HEARTs (Higher Education Assessment and Reporting Team)

The Miles’ Dyslexia Centre has a team of qualified assessors: HEARTs (Higher Education Assessment and Reporting Team). We carry out assessments for students at Bangor University and other colleges and universities, and meet the national guidelines for assessing students in Higher Education.

Under the guidelines, both specialist teacher/assessors and educational psychologists holding the required Practising Certificates are recognised as appropriate professionals to assess and write reports on students who may have specific learning difficulties which warrant support for learning.

Our qualified assessors meet the government guidelines for assessing in Higher Education.

  • All our assessors are registered with their respective professional bodies
  • All our assessors are qualified to identify Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)
  • All our assessors are qualified to recommend, if appropriate, whether a student should be eligible to apply for the Disabled Student Allowance (DSA)
